My laptop has been shutting down unexpectedly and it’s slower. What are the possible causes for this
Nicholas Asked: My laptop has been shutting down unexpectedly and it’s slower. What are the possible causes for this
- About two months ago, this started happening and it's becoming more frequent. Before then, I never had this problem.
-This only happens when I play a computer game like the Sims 3 or an MMORPG online game like Aion.
- I've scanned my laptop with Norton Antivirus 2011 and NO viruses were detected. It is updated regularly.
-I regularly use Disk Clean-up and disk defragmenter.
-I ALWAYS use a fan for my laptop.
Please help me!

Your laptop may not be powerful enough of a machine to be running those types of games, how good is your processor? how much RAM? and do you have a graphics card? without these kinds of things your computer may not be able to handle it all, and will either really slow down or shut itself down as it can not handle the load
Malwarebytes may be one to try. I don't think a RAM or Hard Drive space problem would cause a shut down…Box 'Sleeps' or goes into a mode where it slows then sleeps perhaps? Check Power Options and 'sleep' settings. I hope its not your mother board…Good luck!
